Leather bags, toys, jandals, t-shirts (incl. Russell T’s), men’s gifts, homewares, wall art, souvenirs, jewellery, soaps, toiletries, baby gifts, scarves, and much more…

The Balcony Suite” Aimeo Huahine with a private bathroom offers Breakfast making facilities, microwave, dining table in and outside. Breathtaking water views and catches the sun from dawn to sunset.
Aimeo is built on the hill of Okiato Peninsula, 8 min. drive to Russell township. In a two minutes walk you are at an almost private swimming beach and the Okiato to Russell walkway starts right at your doorsteps.
Both apartments are very quiet and private.

The Bay of Islands i-SITE Visitor Information Centre, Paihia is part of New Zealand’s official nationwide Visitor Information Network.

Paihia often referred to as the “Jewel of the Bay of Islands” is a good starting point for the many and varied trips and adventures that await you here in the bay. Visit the beautiful seaside town of Russell with its colourful history and a lot of the oldest buildings in New Zealand. Kerikeri is 30 minutes drive north and visit the iconic Stone Store and Kemp House located by the picturesque basin. Kawakawa has the world famous Hundertwasser Toilets and is well worth a visit.

The Bay of Islands Swordfish Club is the oldest game fishing club in New Zealand with a history dating back to 1910. Read more about our fishing history – 100 years of catching marlin in the Bay of Islands. Exhibits of historic fishing photographs, tackle and memorabilia provides an interesting viewing for both anglers and anyone interested in local history – from the original catch boards from the 1920s where the name of Zane Grey can be found to the most recent “Grander” (1000lb plus). With outstanding views over the Bay and extensive photo displays and historic fishing memorabilia, both our clubhouses are ideal for an intimate gathering or large group. Both clubhouses have full bar, restaurant as well as function facilities.

Caravan by Tania Cooper is proudly designed and manufactured here in New Zealand in the Beautiful Bay of Islands.

There is a basic Summer and Winter range each year, with additions throughout those seasons.

The name Caravan came from the nostalgic, iconic New Zealand holiday in a beautiful bay somewhere. relaxed and casual, reflecting the clothing we create.

The inspiration for the designs comes from the fabric first, with an emphasis on beautiful prints and quality fabrics using mainly natural fibres where possible.

The designs are not restricted to any particular age group. They are comfortable and easy to wear with flattering lines for all shapes and sizes.

Caravan pants were one of the first designs in 2003 and still remain one of our most popular items. They are an easy comfortable fit and are extremely flattering on all sizes from a 6 to a 20.

Commodores Lodge is located on the waterfront in the heart of the picturesque township of Russell in the Bay of Islands. Commodores Lodge has undergone major refurbishments in the last few years and we are very proud of what has been achieved.

When staying with us it is only an easy stroll to local cafes, restaurants, galleries and gift shops.

You may wish to discover Russell’s exciting past and visit our historic buildings and museum. If a cruise in the bay or fishing charter appeals we can arrange these for you and these all depart from the Russell wharf situated close by.

While staying with us we invite you to relax by our swimming pool and spa or make use of our complimentary bicycles, kayaks, dinghy and barbecue. Try your luck fishing off the nearby wharf and enjoy a drink on the deck watching one of our wonderful Russell sunsets.

Russell is often called “Romantic Russell” and is an ideal place for a wedding or honeymoon. It is a wonderful place to unwind and escape to!

In 1887, Albert Ernest Fuller launched the “Undine” sailing vessel in the Bay of Islands to deliver coal supplies to the islands within the Bay.
With the fitting of a motor in the early 1900s, Fuller was able to deliver the coal and essential supplies to communities as far out as Cape Brett.

In 1927 Fuller acquired the “Cream Trip” from Edmund Lane – with the facilities on board to transport cream from the islands, and by the 1960s, the well known ‘Bay Belle’ started this run.

Today, Fullers GreatSights continues this fine tradition and operates the most comprehensive fleet of cruises and tours in Northland, including Dolphin Cruises to the Hole in the Rock, Cape Reinga Day Tours, and Overnight Cruises.

Originally constructed in 1847 as a “Bordello” catering for the needs of the early Whalers and early trading vessel crews, The Gables offers history and charm with original fireplaces, polished Kauri floors, historic maps and photographs lining the walls.

Fine food with a relaxed atmosphere is the order today. Executive Chef Colin Saunders menu always showcases the freshest local seafood and top cuts of N.Z beef and lamb to create dishes with influences from around the world, utilizing local sourced produce.

The wine list spans New Zealand’s major growing regions with strong influences from regional and boutique producers. Traditional cocktails are always available as are home-grown contemporary concoctions making the most of seasonal fruits.
